This policy explains how information is handled when you use Smart Learner Assistant in ChatGPT or contact Star Learning Systems LLC (we, us, or our) for help. The assistant provides supplemental educational support. OpenAI operates ChatGPT and handles information submitted there under its own privacy policy. Purchases made separately through the Star Learning Systems website are covered by our website privacy policy.
Who may use the assistant
Smart Learner Assistant supports parents, educators, and students ages 13 and older. Students ages 13–17 need parent or guardian permission. An adult must conduct all activities involving a child under 13, including entering requests and reviewing responses. Children under 13 must not use the assistant themselves. Adults should use anonymous examples and must not submit a younger child’s identifying information.
Learning information in ChatGPT
You may provide a subject, grade level, question, learning goal, answer, writing sample, or learning material. ChatGPT uses this content to provide explanations, feedback, and practice activities. Share only what is needed and remove names and other identifying details from schoolwork.
The current assistant contains teaching instructions only. It has no Star Learning server connection, customer login, payment system, or student-record integration. It does not collect payment information or access purchase records. It is not configured to send your conversations or uploaded schoolwork to Star Learning. We do not receive or keep learning conversations, student profiles, or learning histories through this plugin. If you separately send us material for support, we receive what you choose to send.
The assistant does not need passwords, payment card details, government identifiers, medical records, or sensitive personal profiles. Do not include them in a request. A grade level and a description of the task are normally enough.
Information sent directly to Star Learning
When you contact us by email, text, telephone, or our website contact form, we receive the contact details, message, and attachments you provide. We use them to answer your question, address a problem, or respond to a privacy request. Use a short, redacted example instead of identifiable student records or a full conversation history.
Who receives information
OpenAI processes information submitted in ChatGPT under its own policies. Other tools or services you separately choose to use may process information under their own permissions and policies. This assistant does not add a Star Learning data-collection connection.
For messages sent directly to us, information is handled by the people answering your request and the website, email, or messaging services used to deliver it. We do not sell, rent, or lease customer lists or names. We may disclose information when required by applicable law.
How long information is kept
We delete customer support emails and text messages after answering them rather than keeping a support-message history. Deletion from our inboxes does not establish when an email or messaging provider removes its own delivery records or backups; those are governed by that provider’s practices.
ChatGPT conversations and uploads are subject to OpenAI’s retention practices and your account or workspace settings. Uninstalling the assistant does not by itself delete earlier ChatGPT conversations.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can limit what you share, stop using the assistant, and use the privacy controls available in your ChatGPT account. Depending on your account, these may include chat deletion, memory controls, data export, and model-training settings. Requests about information held by OpenAI can be made through its privacy portal.
For information held by Star Learning, contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. We may need enough information to locate your record and verify your authority. Do not send passwords or sensitive identity documents with an initial request. We cannot delete information from your OpenAI account on your behalf.
